Beeswax is a product of the bee hive which is secreted by 12 to 18 days old worker bees, from wax glands beneath segments six to nine of the abdomen. Beeswax is the "building materials" for honeycomb and sealing the ripened honey. It is widely used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, fragrant candles, polish, waterproofing and to make foundation comb for beehives.

The composition of beeswax is complex, but contains hydrocarbons, straight
chain monohydric alcohols, acids, hydroxy acids, oils and other substances.
Its specific gravity is less than one, so it floats on water. It melts at 63 to 65degree and solidifies at 60 to 63 degree, depending on purity.
Application of pure beeswax:

It is widely used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, fragrant candles, polish, waterproofing and to make foundation comb for beehives.

1) Cosmetic: applied to cream, vanishing cream, lipstick, hair-care products, eyebrow pencil, eye shadow, rough lotion making etc. due to its excellent adhesiveness, permeability, emulsification state and smoothness

2) Food: used as the roasted oil and moult releasing agents in the food processing due to its superior flexibility, stable dispersibility ability of forming thin film, water proofing, damp proofing and oxidation resistance
