In a gradually developed intermediate weight, with a wall thickness between pipe and collar, the pipes are used as a kind of drill tool between pipe and collar with a gradual change of section plane to reduce drilling fatigue to prevent stress concentration at the top of the drill collars. It also allows you to drill at high speed with a reducing torture in case of different pressure sticking during directional well drilling works. Kellys Our company offers square and hexagonal kellys. Kellys are available up to 46 feet long. Our kellys are made from 4145H modified alloy bars which are quenched and tempered in the full processing course. A hardness range of 285 to 341 BHN and a minimum impact value of 40ft-lbs are maintained one inch below the surface at room temperature. All ends and center drive sections trepanned to provide precise bores. They are drifted to API specifications, and all connections are machined. Kellys are all stamped with the API monogram. Serial numbers are die stamped on bar bodies. Routine and strict inspection procedures All our drill collars are inspected to comply with the API standards. These inspections include fluorescent magnetic-particle detection and inner ultrasonic flaw detection and hardness detection over the entire body of the drill collar as well as other mechanical performance detection. Cold rolling process The thread roots, as well as the elevator recess, shall be cold-rolled. It�s a kind of pony collar. All the connections undergo phosphate coated to improve resistance to corrosion. Standard lengths are 5ft, 10ft, 15ft and 20ft. Additional sizes are available upon requirements. Pup joints have the same properties in tensile, yield and torsional strength as that of S-135 which has the same inner diameter.
