In order to qualify for this label, the coffee must be grown within specific geographic boundaries, must be of a certain minimum size, and cannot exceed a specific percentage of defects. Certified "Blue Mountain Coffee" is exported only by those authorized by the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica. Sun Beans has been an authorized exporter since 2012 and has led the call for strict labeling and strict quality control.
