SA Snail Co-operative are all previously linked with S A Snail Company a (wholly black owned and managed company). We are  is looking to continue specialising in the harvesting, processing and marketing of terrestrial snails (species Helix Aspersa Muller or commonly known as the brown garden snail, which is in fact the real French petit gris or little grey which is highly sought after by gastronomes the world over) in Southern Africa.
All our members come from previously disadvantaged community and have been involved in the snails industry in different capacities from it�� inception in South Africa in 2000.
WE HAVE DIVERSYFIED OUR BUSINESS TO INCLUDE A RANGE OF VALUE ADDED PRODUCTS FOR THE SOUTH AFRICAN AND EXPORT MARKETS.
The range of products includes frozen cooked snail meat in bags (for the chef that wants to start his snail dish from scratch).  The ready to eat range includes:
jarred snail pate & dip, jarred snails in sauces, escargots in snail bowls (snails in garlic and herb butter), bagged escargots (refills for the escargots in the bowls) and canned snails in brine.  We also cater for specific products for the restaurant and catering industries.
