They should offer more choice, bring lines up to date and improve customer service, he said.�Half-day closing on Wednesday and Saturday has to stop, people do not like coming into town when it is closed. We have got to learn from supermarkets.�How business was run 20 years ago is no longer relevant to today�s society,� he said.He thought Maryport�s future was with specialist shops, which will become sought after as more high streets are taken over by national chain stores.The business forum was set up in January after the town�s chamber of trade was dissolved. It aims to galvanise all business in the town and work with other organisations such as the tourist board and police.
