Company Introduction
Shinwa Rules Co., Ltd. was established in 1971 by integrations of three measuring instruments manufacturers: Watanabe Doki Seisakusho, Hanyu Keiki and Watasei Doki Seisakusho. At that time, our prime concern was to enhance the productivity of our manufacturing plants in anticipation of rapid production volume increase due to dramatic economic growth of Japanese economy. For that reason, we installed automated plating machinery and extended manufacturing plants. We also installed wastewater treatment facility to make sure hazardous materials do not leak out with our discharged water; we were an eco-conscious corporation even back then.
In 1977, we got a patent of our invention for the first time. This invention established mass-production technology for calibrating stainless steel rules with stable quality. We have gradually but steadily developed our business for next 12 years: during this period, we have set up development department, added three production plants, installed automated plating machines on four production lines and increased capital stocks from 15.5million yen to 95.5million yen.
In 1989, manufacturing facility for our first non-measuring instrument product, sheet heating element was installed in our manufacturing plant. This led us into engaging business transaction with customers from outside of measuring instrument industry.
1n 1990, we won the good company special award sponsored by the Medium and Small Business Research Institute as following achievements were highly regarded: innovating metallic measuring instruments production process to mass production contributing to the development of local industry, exploiting new market in home improvement retailers and actualizing diversification of business lines.
1n 1991, we established our first outside of Japan business office in Dalian, China. This office started out with only a handful of staff members. In 1994, manufacturing plant was erected near by the business office there. The manufacturing plant's production was activated in 1995. Since the production launch, the manufacturing plant has been employing over 200 local staffs for producing measuring instruments such as metallic rulers, ink bottles and speed squares.
In 1999, we acquired ISO9000/ISO9001. Our way of work was officially and internationally approved as a systematically well-functioning business procedure resulting a great impact on increase of overseas customers inquiries.
In 2000, we won the Niigata prefecture business promotion award as our performances of recording 70% sales share of metallic rulers and squares and developing numbers of bestselling measuring instruments in Japanese market were marked outstanding.
In 2001, after a year long data recording work, we were approved as an accredited manufacturer of Japan Calibration Service System as we demonstrated followings; fulfilling requirements of ISO/IEC17025 certificates, possessing technology access to national standard measuring method and calibration.
In 2007, our first sales branch in the North America, Shinwa Measuring Tools Corporation was established in Chicago, IL USA. By doing this, we were able to enhance our service quality for significant amount of Japanese expatriates stationed in the United States providing direct access to purchase measuring tools.
