On 7 September 2006, Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd. (Cheung Kong) Purchased approximately 29% of Ming An Holdings Company Limited (Ming An) which was then listed on the main board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited on 22 December 2006 with stock code 1389. Both Cheung Kong and Ming An decided to strengthen further the cooperation in exploring more business opportunities in China property insurance market. Shenzhen China Insurance Ming An Insurance Brokers Co., Limited (Ming An Insurance Broker) was formed by Ming An under this background and will become another platform of cooperation in the insurance market in China. AMTD, the financial arm of Cheung Kong, recently enters into a Memorandum of Understanding with Ming An to acquire the shares of Ming An Insurance Brokers. AMTD shall manage Ming An Insurance Broker to become an independent and most reputable insurance broker in China. Building on the foundation of shareholders’ resources, Ming An Insurance Broker will build up a modern state-of-art insurance broking management and best use of the unique interactive strength of networks and management skills from both Hong Kong and the Mainland China.
