"In the east coffee was widly consumed as a beverage possibly as long as 800BC. According to history around 1505 coffee was introduced to Sri Lanka which was then Ceylon by Arabian traders who traveled to east. But the Dutch gained a head start by cultivating coffee plants in large scale in Sri Lanka around 1658. In 1800’s the Sri Lankan or Ceylonese coffee boomed and Sri Lanka (Ceylon) was the main supplier to the world coffee market. English word “Coffee†derivate after from the Turkish “Kahve†which came via Arabic “Qahwa†which came from Ethiopian “Kaffaâ€. “Ko-Pi†is the Sri Lankan name for coffee. In the late 19th century tea replaced coffee in Sri Lanka. But the rich coffee culture is still continuing. And so we are trying to prove that to the worldâ€
