Choosing toys for your kids

People may think that choosing toys for kids is easy, providing that they are colorful and can play some music. However, I find it really difficult to find proper toys for my 9-year-old daughter. In my opinion, choosing a suitable toy to our kids' age plays an important role as toys are regarded one of the effective "education tools". It is not true that the more expensive, the better toys are. There are toys which look simple but can cause your kids to think and form connections about simple motion rules which kids of a certain age can understand. Moreover, toys should also be safe, enabling children to learn while playing and stay away from violence games such as swords or guns easily found in most toy shops nowadays.

Recently, my friend shared me a website of a newly-established wooden toy producer. Wow, it's really my interest, so I click on the site. At the first look, the toys look simple, but then I find out that they can all move. Climbing squirrel or monkey, or walking animals appear so cute. When I show them to my daughter, she gets really excited by keeping asking me "How can it walk like that?" or "How come can the monkey climb?". Oh my God, I don't know the answer either, so I promise to buy her some to discover by herself.

Another interesting thing is that these wooden toys are quite similar to those I used to play when I was just a child. Take the swinging ape for example, my dad made it for me by cutting the bamboo chopsticks in mom's kitchen. With the help of machines, this toy is now more beautiful. So, I am really happy as I will not be embarrassed to find illustrations of my past toys when telling my own stories to my beloved daughter, and she will enjoy and keep it in mind as long as her mother does.
