Profile & Company Back Ground. The Managing Director, Bashir Muhammad Chaudhry (Late) established Riaz Electric Co. in 1956. In the beginning the company was involved in trading of Electric goods. In mid 70s the company started doing business with WAPDA (Water & Power Development Authority) as a contractor. The main area of business gradually became the manufacturing of hardware material of overhead lines and for grid stations. In 1984 the company was incorporated as a private limited company with four directors. The company has two manufacturing units in Lahore (Pakistan) located at distance of 15 minutes from each other. In 1987 the company started manufacturing Deep Freezer under the brand name �Candy� and ever since the company is in this business. The company has a sales network throughout the country by distributors, dealership system. Riaz Electric Company is among the few manufacturing companies of Deep Freezers in Pakistan. About 5 years back the company developed a Cooking Range in accordance to the European specification and standards in different sizes and models. The response from the dealers in general and from the distributors in particular is excellent. To meet with the environmental global changes we have imported CFC free PU (Polyurethane) insulation plant from our own sources (landed cost of the plant is Rs. 49.50 Million) which will also increase the capacity of production, it will also open new avenues for the export and to meet with the requirement of multinational companies such as beverages industry, Ice cream industry, dairy industry and different United Nations wings. (Pages 1 of 2) Against the request of WHO (World Health Organization) Pakistan, we have developed a chest type refrigerator for the storage of vaccine commonly known as ILR (Ice Lined Refrigerator) and to meet with the basic/conditions this chest type refrigerator was sent to one of the accredited laboratory of WHO/UNICEF in UK, ITS Research & Testing Laboratory UK fro the quality certification and we are proud to mention here that the quality certification has been issued to us by the above mentioned laboratory. We would like to mention here that our company is the only freezer making company to have this kind of certificate by any foreign laboratory. It will be pertinent to mention here that we are also manufacturing freezer/cooler for milk since 1992. Approximately one year before company started to develop milk cooling tank/Chiller which has been successfully tested by Nestle Pakistan Ltd & Engro Foods Ltd. On the basis of test results Nestle Pakistan Ltd, Engro Foods Ltd & Pakistan Dairy Development Company has placed sizeable orders which are under manufacturing process. Regards. For Riaz Electric Co.
