By 1980 these had given rise to a range of vehicle and access-​related products that were exported to European markets and later to North America, Australasia and the Far East. The international success of Nortech was based on the quality, stability and durability of its product range and a strong distribution network, backed by intensive sales and marketing support. The company continued to invest in research to identify and react to market-​driven demand, diversifying its product range and increasing its value-​added services to satisfy international trends and requirements. In 1990, Nortech attained the SABS 0157 mark (equivalent to ISO 9000 accreditation) and in 1996 received ISO 9001 quality certification. The company has achieved accreditation in the USA, Australia and Europe for its products, as well as receiving numerous export and product innovation awards, emphasising the global nature of the company and its commitment to quality and value. The company’s original distributors continue to support Nortech today, a mark of the long-​term relationships that the company develops and enjoys.
