Newgrid technology is a technical concentration type venture of the telecommunication field which eight etri researcher founded on 1995.
Founders, which have studied the tdx switchboard development enterprise, the CDMA mobile communications system, and the duty leading to atm switchboard, are developed high value added telecommunication equipment for the technology with the knowledge that was storing up during various project executions. Newgrid technology focused on integrated communication solution between different pstn, voice&data integration solutions and developed various telecommunication equipments to supply local telco such as kt, kft and hanaro telecom.
In 2003, they have finished to develop ngn solution equipments based on these technologies.
Especially, newgrid took a supply area of signaling gateway at the kt bid to establish ngn test bed last june. In that bid, local and foreign leading companies entered.
Recently, they took another supply area on kt test bed. Newgrid passed the bid of second ngn test bed bids of trunk gateway.
Newgrid can reflect the demand of telco positively with their various source technologies on every device that they had.
Signaling gateway that they focused applied picmg 2.16 standard for developing IP based network device. It enables high density, carrier-grade signaling gateway solution. Therefore, it is easy to deploy and less the equipment space and higher bandwidth for the service.
Newgrid technology has a plan to develop the compound gateway, which has a both function as signaling and trunk gateway based on their source technology of ngn.
Particularly, considering the integration of wire and wireless communication, they are going to develop gateway to integrate pstn - IP network and convert media between wire and wireless network.
