Today, it is East Africas single largest textile mill and following massive modernization investment by METL post-acquisition, it has also become one of the most modern mills in the East African region. Afritex Ltd (AL) Tanga. Is an integrated textile mill with spinning, weaving, knitting, processing and printing facilities. The mill has a capacity to produce 1,800 M/tons of carded cotton yarns and 18 million meters of dyed and printed fabrics annually. METL already captured a large portion of the Tanzanian and also African market with its range of Ketegnes and Khangas, Bedsheets, Shirting and Suiting Materials (forthcoming) and Blended Fabrics (forthcoming).
