Founded in 1947, the original supply was of leatherette (rexine as it was called then). As the growth was (and still is) customer led, the company flourished. Product lines were expanded to coated fabrics of various specifications, weaves, constructions, weights, widths, deniers and densities, using a variety of base cloths (polyester, nylon, nonwoven, mixed fibres, etc) and various coatings (PVC, PU, ULY, silicone, acrylic etc) and finishes (water repellent, fire retardant, embossing ranges, etc).
In addition to Coated Fabrics, the Materials Division today offers a huge variety of products including Reinforced PVC (Tarpaulin), Plastic (PVC) sheeting, Fire Retardant Upholstery Vinyls and other materials for industrial applications, linings of various types, and much more most from stock.
Demand led to a further diversification into a wide range of haberdashery and trimmings including zips, fasteners, plastic and metal fittings, webbings, bindings, elastics, hook and loop tapes, press studs, rivets, rings, buckles, eyelets, various tapes (including reflective), cords, sewing threads, and even the supply of machinery and tools.
A rigorous programme of in-house quality control was instituted from the outset which is adhered to and continuously improved upon.
Today Mansam Products - based in the heart of the textile industry's traditional home Manchester, England - makes and stocks millions of metres of various types of materials and a vast array of accessories in a choice of sizes, widths, colours, and finishes, ready for immediate call-off and shipment to customers in all parts of the world.
