Federal Electric was founded in 1990. Within a short time it has made progress and took its place among the leading Low Voltage Switchgear Equipment manufacturers in the world. It was founded with hundred percent national capital in a total area of 60,000 sqm, out of which 40,000 sqm is covered area. Federal Electric employs nearly 500 person. Federal Electric carried its systematic development to international standards in 1994 and is listed among the first 70 companies which hold ISO 9000 certificates. Federal Electric was awarded with the Quality Prize at the 1st International Technology-Quality and Manufacturing Systems Congress on account of being a company that implements TS-EN-9000 quality assurance system perfectly. Motivating Federal Electric as a domestic manufacturer, this prize was presented in a ceremony by the Chairman of ISO, namely Prof. Dr. Giacomo Elias.
SHORT CIRCUIT TEST LABORATORY
The Short Circuit Test Laboratory directing and complementing the R & D studies is founded in 1998, allows low-voltage short circuit breaking capacity and electric type tests to be conducted for low voltage protection and control devices such as NH blade fuses, circuit breakers, automatic fuses and contactors in line with the international standards like IEC and VDE. This laboratory which produces 100 kA test current under 440 V is the first laboratory of this kind in Turkey and one of few ones in the world.
