Company Introduction

DIATOMACEOUS EARTH ONLINE
SUPPLIERS OF PREMIUM FOOD GRADE, FRESHWATER
DIATOMACEOUS EARTH (NATURAL AMORPHOUS SILICA)
FROM FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA
INTRODUCTION
Diatomaceous Earth Online was established to provide reliable and easy online access to one of the worlds most versatile, natural products: diatomaceous earth, also known as natural amorphous silica. Operating from Far North Queensland, Australia, the company ships from the mine to the port of Brisbane and can service international customers efficiently, at competitive prices.
Diatomaceous Earth Online supplies premium-grade diatomaceous earth (DE) sourced directly from the mine in Mount Garnet in Far North Queensland, Australia. While Australia has a number of silica mines, only this mine produces a High Grade Amorphous Silica that is suitable for multiple purposes and industries. The silica from our Mount Garnet mine matches, if not exceeds, the best quality found anywhere in the world.
Silicon dioxide is an abundant compound which has many types, many grades and thousands of commercial uses. Not all silica types can be used commercially and some are far superior to others depending on the application. While some silica material may have a silica content of 98%, it may be inferior to another material of only 50% depending on the use. Some silica is extremely dangerous to human health while others offer a high level of vitality. Some silica has toxic levels of heavy metals while other types are extremely pure. Some silica are inert while others are chemically active.
This vast difference in silica types, silica uses and silica suitability makes knowledge and selection of silica material very important. High Grade Amorphous Silica is a rare type of silica with properties that are unique. It can be used in areas that no other silica can be used and some instances is superior to other non-silica materials more commonly used by various industries.
MINERAL RESERVES AND PRODUCTION CAPACITY
Diatomaceous Earth reserves at the Mount Garnet Mine are estimated at approximately 300 million tonnes. Production capacity (for agricultural grade) can be up to 200 to 600 tons per day depending on the size of the crusher utilised. As DE is a natural product mined directly from the ground, production capacity may be reduced during the wet season (approximately December to April) when heavy rains impact on the mining processes.
PRODUCT CERTIFICATION AND ANALYSIS
The quality of Diatomaceous Earth has been analysed by the Queensland Government (Australia) to determine whether there is any crystalline silica present. (Simtars Laboratory Procedure LP0016 - "Procedure for Measurement of Crystalline Silica in Airborne Dust by Infrared Spectroscopy"). The Queensland Government has certified that there are no detectable levels of crystalline silica present in the companys Diatomaceous Earth. A copy of the Government certificate is available on request.
An analysis of the Diatomaceous Earth has been prepared by the Russian Academy of Science. The typical analysis and rare earth analysis are available on request. A comparison analysis has been undertaken by the Russian Academy of Science to test the quality of the Mount Garnet DE with other DE products. The companys DE from the Mount Garnet mine was found to be superior to other products tested, and remains among the highest quality in the world.
