The beginning of the group in Asia originates in 1983, when Dextra was established as a trading company of industrial and construction products. Participating in the take-off of the Thai construction industry and becoming the biggest and preferred supplier of most main contractors. Dextra gradually developed in Asia into a manufacturer of innovative and high quality construction products and systems, leading it to operate its own factory in 1989. Dextra was thus well equipped to tackle the tremendous growth of the construction sector, in particular with one of its "Star" products, the Bartec coupler, a parallel thread device used to connect together two reinforcement steel bars cast in large concrete structures.
