Company Introduction
Cryotron has pioneered the cryogenic process. Through continuing research, Cryotron has developed procedures that provide greater predictability of tooling performance common to a wide range of industries and includes numerous tooling applications.
Our company has developed a unique method for treating a variety of commonly used tool steels and parts. Cryotron's exclusive Vari-Cold cryogenic treatment will result in significant savings to industry and consequently reduce the tremendous drain and usage of energy, natural resources, and raw materials. The cryotron process is completely environmentally friendly.
Cryotron is an active participant in ASM International's recently established "Cryogenic Technology Group". The goal of this committee is to standardize cryogenic processing procedures and to develop a database keyed to a cryogenically treated material's overall performance in various service applications.
Years of research, however, have neither scratched nor dented the surface. New applications for the cryogenic process appear every day. Cryotron looks forward to continued participation in the further development of the cryogenic processing technology.
Cryotron processors and tempering ovens are rugged, reliable units built for heavy-duty performance and designed for durability, serviceability, and accuracy.
To maximize efficiency and process results, all Cryotron processors are pre-programmed to perform the Cryotron Vari-Cold process. Our processors are the most efficient available. Cryogen (LN2) consumption is less than 500 litres per process with payloads to 1, 200 lbs. (LT-250) . The cryogenic chambers of our processors are made of 1 / 4" stainless steel, while the outer cabinets use 16-gauge powder-coated steel. A unique, proprietary Cryotron Design eliminates weld cracks and stress-related warping. We're so sure of this proven design that we offer a Three-Year warranty on our chamber integrity. Six inches of the best insulation available for cryogenic applications lie between chamber walls. (As part of the chamber, it also carries a three-year warranty) . A digital, programmable controller with full ramp and soak capabilities directs the descent rate, soak duration, and temperature setting selected for your process.
We offer our customers complete and ongoing technical support. As an active cryogenic processing centre serving a wide variety of industrial clients, we're continually investigating new applications for the process. Cryotron provides an extensive materials database, as well as current and innovative methodology for your processing procedures.
