Company Introduction
Celebrating Cultural Diversity Network (CCDN) is a dynamic community initiative of Black and Multiple Heritage Organizations, families and individuals that was first established in June 2005. We exist, through collaboration, to develop, deliver and sustain a strong voice for people of diverse ethnicities, cultures and faiths (DECF) communities in Hastings, St Leonard’s on Sea, Bexhill and surrounding areas within the South East, UK.At the heart of our aspirations we share a vision of inclusive and sustainable communities that are fully resourced to meet the needs of everyone. We have a large and diverse membership of more than 2500 members from over 97 different ethnic descents and cultural heritages, that still continues to grow. We create safe, supportive, anti-racist, culturally diverse environments for our members and represent their interests. We aim to reduce isolation and promote a sense of belonging and provide a platform from which to challenge discriminatory and racist practices and beliefs. We provide mutual support for people of diverse ethnicities, cultures and faiths (DECF): Individuals, families, groups and organisations, focusing on evolving personal and collective strategies and we give a special emphasis on enabling our members to develop a positive sense of their ethnic identity in an environment in which they are not in a minority. We promote service provision and design based on an innovative community empowerment model. In partnership with other organisations we develop a creative, culturally appropriate response and bottom up approach: from grass root level to strategic decision making. We aim to ensure closest understanding of service users, thus significantly reducing access difficulties for members from people of diverse cultures and faiths (PDCF) communities, including members of Refugee & Asylum Seeker communities, as well as Elders, Children and Young People and Disabled people.
