The organic cultivation of Casa Barone spread out along the lands which had been crossed by the lavas of the eruption in 1944, shaping a striking landscape. The framing arrangement reflects the typical Vesuvian orchard, and among volcanic rocks and wild broom are alternating vineyards for grapes such as Catalanesca, apricot trees, plum trees, mulberry trees, sorb trees, fig trees, walnut trees, olive trees, citrus trees, Crataegus azarolus trees (nowadays it is very rare fruit like a small apple, representing the company� logo). The Piennolo tomatoes and other vegetables are cultivated where the orchard is thinner.Casa Barone is a Slow Food presidium for the Organic Piennolo Tomato from Vesuvius available as a preserved product as well as fresh.
