C & N Petroleum Equipment went full force this year in promoting woman in the workplace. Yvonne Van Schalkwyk founder and CEO of C and N Petroleum Equipment was nominated in various categories in TOPCO Woman of the Year Awards 2011 namely; Top Gender Empowered Company in Resources, Top Woman Executive, Mentor of the Year.

C & N Petroleum Equipment was awarded with a highly commended certificate in the Top Gender Empowered Company and Yvonne Van Schalkwyk received a highly commended certificate for Mentor of the year. We were competing against giant companies such as Engen, Anglo American and Channel Africa only to name a few. To receive these acknowledgements and certificates is a phenomenal achievement and requires years of dedication in empowering woman.

This black tie event was held at Gallagher Estates in Midrand, on 22 September 2011, and we got to rub shoulders with some of South Africas top celebrities such as Gareth Cliff (seen here on the right with our marketing manager Claudia Van Schalkwyk)and role models, Kgomotso Matsunyane (writer, director, editor, blogger, businesswoman and television presenter), and inspirations, Sophie Williams De Bruyn, (last surviving leader of the 1956 march to Pretoria who also won Life Achievement Award) Menzi Simelane,(National Director of National Prosecution Authority).
