The platform has an in-built risk assessment system to assist users in conducting the due diligence of each of the timber consignments traded.The objective of the platform is to connect buyers and sellers of legal and certified timber products in a safe, transparent, and user-friendly environment. Participants can post their requests and offers and receive replies online, increasing market efficiency. Its use is free of charge. BVRio Responsible Timber Exchange was designed to facilitate compliance with the requirements of export markets of the US (Lacey Act) and the European Union, and to promote the FLEGT Action Plan.
