Company Introduction
Founded in 1998, baung utara sdn bhd (100% bumiputra) started as a riverine excursion company cruising along the historical kedah river, in alor star, kedah.
This cause our founder, to conceive, designs, and built our range of boats with unique capability and features after years of research and development as well as years of operating boat. We now have our own fiber manufacturing factory in order for us to maintain strict quality control.
Our research have develop our own range of anti slip decking which was develop initially for our boats decks, but now have found fresh use at marine docks to replace wooden decking, as well as replacing metal man hole covers which command a high resale value.
Our own range of boat with commercial, leisure as well as enforcement application are
Year 2000, scooper, a shallow draught, calm water boat, suitable for river rides or tour as a excursion boat, river cleaning, rescue operation, riverside construction purpose. The scooper can also be use to build pontoon type of bridges, for emergency use.
Year 2002, prototype model of ranger 1 was build for the Malaysia fire and rescue department, know as the srb or search and rescue boat, and name dolphin, ranger 1 have serve the malaysian fire and rescue department in many ways and also at the prestigious langkawi international marine and aerospace shows (lima 2003 and the coming 2005).
At the end of 2004, and early 2005, dolphin 2 have the sad duty of retrieving victims drown by the 2004 tsunami which hit Penang beaches. Perhilitan a ranger 1 (32c140 model) sold to the malaysian forestry department (national park division) dock at telok bahang the site of the Penang national marine park, one of the hard hit beaches, survive the tsunami with minimal damage unlike other boats there.
Ranger 1, is design with a unique hull which give it a shallow water operation capability (to approach beaches) also with a high sea capability, it has a capsize screen value of only 0.75, much better then the us coast guard requirements of minimum of 2 and below. Ranger 1, have attain speed up to 45knots, can operate in sea state 5 conditions, shallow water of 3 ft, anti roll capability as tested by the malaysian armed forces recently.
Early year 2004, fab mark 1, a fiber runabout, design as a assault boat, design to be light weight, for easy manhandling, but strong to survive hard surface beaching, fab mark 1 have a very low radar signature. For safety it has our own unique anti roll over capability, new anti slip decking, & 11 floatation compartments. This craft is suitable for costal and river operation and can survive sea state 3 condition with ease.
Early year 2005, baung utara sdn bhd develop own our version of a traditional sampan (fishing boat), built much lighter for fuel saving, and manhandling but strong, with extra features such as anti slip decking, aluminum bars as strengthens to replace wood, built in storage compartment, it was design following the traditional belimbing hull or star fruit hull, and with much input from the fisherman them selfs to ensure that the fisherman receive what they want.

Base upon the superb design of the ranger 1, equip with twin obm engine of 250hp, sea devil has attain a speed of 45 knots in its trails, have creep up to suspected vessels, or laying in ambush with out being detected, making it ideal at as a interceptor, fast response craft for emergency rescue or medivac, infiltration craft, and many other military and enforcement uses. Sea devil is fast and agile, accelerate from 1 to 40 knots in just 33 seconds, perform max rate turn at 40 knots. Are your pilots capable to handle her? May be yes, but only after being train by our chief test pilot or founder.
