Company Introduction
The zeolite sold by Alamito Zeolite is a naturally occurring hydrated sodium potassium calcium aluminosilicate (of the subtype clinoptilolite) which was created by the chemical reaction of volcanic ash and salt water after volcanoes erupted and spewed enormous amounts of alkalines and alkaline earths into the air. Material is available in the following standard screen sizes: 10-20, 20-34, and -34. Superfine (-200) available on request. The structure of zeolite is an open and stable 3-dimensional honey-comb structure with a negative charge. The negative charge within the pores is neutralized by positively charged ions (cat ions). This strong electrical charge is the reason zeolite can attract and hold cat ions of dangerous heavy metals such as lead, strontium and arsenic and attract and hold less-obnoxious ions such as ammonia. The open 3-dimensional structure (approx. 38% void space) makes it ideal for filtering applications since the openings of the zeolite are sized consistently within the sub-type. Alamito Zeolite has following zeolite products for sale: Feed-Z - The high CEC of Feed-Z diminishes the ammonia toxicity in both cattle and poultry and scouring in cattle as it grabs free ammonia within the animal and holds it within the manure thereby increasing its fertilizer value while decreasing the expulsion of the free ammonia thereby reducing the odor around the poultry sheds and feed lots. Raw zeolite may also be added to the wastewater slurries to capture free ammonia and reduce odors. Grow-Z - The adsorption characteristics of Grow-Z increase crop yields by making fertilizer more effective by preventing leeching and holding valuable nutrients (such as ammonium nitrate, potassium, magnesium, calcium and other trace minerals) for slow release as needed. The addition of zeolite to the soil results in less packing and increased water retention between rains or irrigation periods and reduces the amount of pollution.
