Founded in February 28th, 1990, Daekyung, Korea&＃39;s sole stainless steel plate producing company, shares 10% of its stock with POSTEEL. Also, with its 22.06 acre factory in North-Chungha Kyungbuk, Pohang city, Daekyung produces 120 thousand Tons of stainless steel per year. The factory is furnished with highly modern facilities such as Continuous Casting, LEVELLER, Continuous Pickling, H.R Coil Shear Line, and Auto Grinding M/C. There are two stages involved with the manufacturing processes. The first stage contains the production of Slab/ Black Plate and Black Coil at Posco and the second is the DKC process (A.G.M, Heat Treatment & Water Quenching, Leveller & Descaler, Cutting & Edge Grinding, Shot Blasting & Pickling, Weighing & Packing) at Daekyung. Daekyung diversifies its products by producing different intensity level of stainless steel plate like 304, 304L, 316L, 317L, 321, and Duplex from 8 to 80mm in thickness. Daekyung&＃39;s stainless steel plates are benefited in petrochemistry, food, construction, nuclear power plants, LNG, LPG, and desalinization facilities for etc., and the corporation&＃39;s main domestic demands are some of the preeminent companies such as Doosan Heavy Industry Co, Hyundai Heavy Industry Co, and Samsung Heavy Industry Co. As of late 2002, Daekyung&＃39;s domestic market share is around 75% and at the same time, more than half of the corporation&＃39;s annual sales revenue, over 50 million dollars, is established overseas to 40 countries like the U.S, Europe, Japan, Australia, and China.
