During the past 30 years, Korea Computer Inc. (KCI) has headed Korean information industry through developing optimized banking systems and -introducing Tandem Non-stop system to the domestic market. In December 2002, Korea Computer restructured its organization and overall management into holding structure to cope with the ever-changing business environment. Based on this new structure, Korea Computer will increase corporate value by securing transparency in management, strengthen its competitiveness through executing specialized strategies by business unit, and improve profitability by responding to the fast-changing market more rapidly and flexibly.

Korea Computer has focused its resources and attention on information and communication area since its establishment in 1974. With the support from customers and shareholders, it became the first company publicly listed on the Korea Stock Exchange in this business sector in June 1988 and it has secured its position as a key player in the information and communication industry in Korea. In order to foster core competencies and sharpen the competitiveness in today's demanding business environment, Korea Computer Inc. has spun off its Financial Systems Business Unit and System Integration Business Unit and stays on as Korea Computer Holdings Inc. The Holding Company will focus on evaluating and managing its subsidiaries, while newly created Korea Computer Inc. and KCI Inc. will be specialized in banking automation business and system integration business, respectively.
