TradeVerify As long as the V/Hz ratio is kept the same as, or lower than what the frequency converter is designed for, there is no reason not to use a 50Hz converter on 60Hz, and vice versa. Many of the above posts seem to assume that voltages should be the same for both frequencies, but that is not a requirement. Likewise we can not assume that the kVA rating must be the same.Perhaps you are visualising an infinitely ended cycle of power supply but the primary basics of energy and associated laws still hold. If you are looking at an arrangement of Rectifier-Battery bank-Inverter,then it is not likely you can achieve that because the source of your energy becomes the battery in the absence of external source of supply.
